A Message from our Founder
I didn't move to Malibu to surf, I grew up here at Point Dume, where the Pacific has always been less a backdrop and more a way of life. I've been reading these waves since before most of my students were born.
That path took me to Hawaii's North Shore for big wave surfing, to Australia to study psychology, and to the Canary Islands, where I spent six years as Head Coach and General Manager of the Quiksilver Surf School. No matter where I traveled, my heart stayed on these shores.
Back home, I coached the Malibu High School Surf Team, founded the Venice Beach Westside Boardriders, and spent over a decade running youth surf programs across LA, sharing this with thousands of students, from absolute beginners to competitive juniors.
In 2015, I created what you see today, Malibu Surf Coach: a private lesson program built on one belief, that great coaching is always personal.
